Casey Lippmeier

Casey Lippmeier currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Innovation for Conagen Inc. – a fully integrated R&D and biomanufacturing company which uses synthetic biology to deliver high value ingredients for the food, flavor, nutritional, pharmaceutical, and renewable materials industries. Casey is responsible for developing and delivering new technologies for ingredient biomanufacturing to Conagen’s commercial affiliates and external partners. Examples have included nutritional products, sweeteners, food preservatives, crop protection agents, biopharmaceuticals and several others. His most recent focus has been on the longevity vitamin ergothioneine. Prior to joining Conagen, Casey was a Principal Scientist for DSM Nutritional Products and Martek Biosciences where he helped to establish their molecular biotechnology group and while there developed the strains which still today produce the DHA and ARA used to fortify most infant formulas globally. Casey received his PhD training at Dartmouth College and the University of Hull, and undergraduate training at the University of Maine, Orono. He has served on several editorial, advisory, non-profit, and corporate governing boards.
