Director of Finance

The Director of Finance will build the financial systems from the ground up at an early stage, pre-revenue startup, that is gearing up for commercial launch.
In this role you will develop the accounting systems and financial tools to enable our growth and guide critical business decisions.
Responsibilities
Own all things finance – from AR and AP, to our five year strategic plan and everything in between!
Manage all aspects of cash flow by monitoring the in and outflows of capital (e.g., implement billing and expense tracking processes)
Own all aspects of accounting operations & financial reporting (including taxes, audits, etc) in collaboration with external service providers
Develop quarterly and yearly financial projections
Model financing options, including debt and equity financing and advise on path forward
Work closely with our Technology and Operations teams to model COGS Develop and implement systems to track and forecast budgets on a quarterly and annual basis
Create reports and dashboards for key financial metrics
Evaluate and select an auditing firm and be the main point of contact for all financial audits and finance requests
Ensure 409a valuation is up to date
Required Skills and Experience
Experience working at an early stage startup and have built a financial infrastructure from scratch
5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, FP&A, and/or business finance
Expert at financial modeling and have the ability to develop and interpret complex financial models
Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
No need to do the bookkeeping and accounting yourself, but you can confidently walk through the books, P&L and balance sheet
Knowledge of accounting software
Strong financial modeling skills and are proficient with Excel and/or Google Sheets
Built and managed superior finance teams with best practices in a high-growth, high change environment
This is not a remote position. You will need to be located in the San Francisco bay area or be willing to relocate there.
