Product Manager, Molecular Biology
Description
This Product Manager is responsible for the development and execution of GenScript’s Molecular Biology reagent service new product development roadmap and management of GenScript’s core Molecular Biology reagent service business. Product Managers are the key product owner and champion of their product or service line, and the advocate for the Customer. This ideal candidate will have a blend of skills including technical knowledge, stakeholder management, excellent project management, and strong communication.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Develops new product development roadmap for GenScript’s Molecular Biology reagent services with support from the Head of Molecular Biology Group.
· Collaborates closely with stakeholders in different functions (Production, R&D, Finance, Legal, etc.) on individual new product development projects.
· Conducts primary market research to understand technology and market trends. Collaborate with regional marketing, sales to analyze regional market needs and competition, and position services according to the local market.
· Manage existing molecular biology reagent service and evolve services to better fit in the roadmap of Molecular Biology service portfolio.
· Supports production stakeholders in management of existing business by servicing as the Customer’s advocate and building consensus.
· Partners with Marketing Managers, Marketing Center of Excellence, Sales, and Business Development to understand and communicate internally the needs of the market and the customer and support strategic Sales opportunities.
· Builds persuasive business cases to support specific investment by GenScript.
Requirements
· 1-2 years of product management, sales, or sales support experience
· Advanced degree (PhD level) in Biochemistry, Biology, or similar specialization preferred
· Ability to operate effectively and succeed in an international business environment.
· Ability to travel up to 15%.
· Ability to quickly and critically analyze technical and non-technical data and draw conclusions
· To synthesize different sources of data and market intelligence to develop forecasts, customer personas, and specifications
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills
· Ability to work within a team as well as independently
· Must be self-motivated and driven
· Ability to meet deadlines and/or targets
