Liberation Labs has officially rebranded as Liberation Bioindustries, a change designed to better reflect its emergence as a global, commercial-scale biomanufacturer. With its first precision fermentation facility nearing completion in Indiana and a second project in early planning stages in Saudi Arabia, the company’s new identity marks a strategic shift toward industrial-scale production and multi-industry impact.

Liberation Labs is Now Liberation Bioindustries

“As we move from concept to completion, the ‘Labs’ part of Liberation Labs felt unnecessarily limiting, if not outright confusing,” said Mark Warner, founder and CEO of Liberation Bioindustries. “After all, the world is full of amazing biotechnologies that are at lab scale – we’re building the next generation of industrial biomanufacturing facilities to bring those products to market.”

The updated name, Liberation Bioindustries, reflects both the scale and breadth of the company’s mission—serving sectors such as food, pharmaceuticals, specialty ingredients, and industrial products. Alongside the name change, the company introduced a new brand identity encompassing updated colors, fonts, visuals, and a redesigned website that aligns with its values: practicality, engineering excellence, accountability, innovation, and collaborative growth.

Currently, Liberation Bioindustries is in the final construction stages of its 600,000-liter precision fermentation facility in Richmond, Indiana, which includes a dedicated downstream process (DSP) line. This flagship plant will produce a wide variety of bio-based materials, including essential ingredients for food and chemical industries—offering a scalable, cost-effective solution for both emerging and established consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands and industrial clients.

Recent partnerships highlight the company's growing commercial footprint. In May 2025, Liberation Bioindustries announced plans to produce Vivitein™ BLG, a dairy protein developed by Dutch startup Vivici, at commercial volumes. In April 2025, the company revealed a strategic partnership with Topian, NEOM’s food company, to co-develop a cutting-edge fermentation facility in Saudi Arabia. Planning for that project is slated to begin in the second half of 2025.

The rebrand was unveiled in conjunction with Liberation Bioindustries’ sponsorship and participation in the Future Food-Tech event taking place this week in Chicago.
